A great buy..

Remember my colleague's wedding last Saturday? Well, I had to find myself a dress as the only dress I have here in Sydney was too loose for me, or should I say, I lost weight. That's good news, isn't it? Then again, what's the big deal about losing weight? Women should really start eating well, and not worry about being too skinny. There are better things to do than to be too self-conscious.

Anyway, Andrew and I drove all the way to Parramatta, with the initial purpose of looking for a wind-proof jacket for skiing this August. Then I took a quick stroll and saw this Asian clothing shop and saw this dress which I think looked nice. I searched for the price tag, flipped it over and my eyes just went wide open. It was only for $10!!!! Unbelievable!! I had to double check with the sales girl. I tried the dress without hesitation, however I didn't think it looked nice on me in that instant. Still, the material was good and it was needless to say, a great buy. I just went, what the heck, it's only $20 if I get two of them. And if I still don't think I look nice in them, I will just pass it on to my younger sister.

So, it was a really a swift purchase, and thankfully the more I tried it on at home, the more I like it. Even Andrew thinks it looks good on me. So, moral of the story is.. you don't really need to buy branded stuff, which is hundred times more pricey, when you could go by with something as cheap as that. I could have saved many child's lives with that amount should I buy anything more expensive by sponsoring a child every month for only $30!

Lazy Bum !

I have been such a slack. I have been too lazy to blog, I'm sure it happens so many bloggers. I wanted to talk about how I spent my CNY here, but then I guess after many times repeating how I spent my CNY, I got bored, and that's why didn't even feel like blogging about it.

Anyway, let's put that aside. Andrew and I attended my colleague's wedding on Saturday. Both the couple are Vietnamese. It's our first vietnamese wedding, and it is pretty similar to chinese weddings back home. Church wedding, however was conducted in vietnamese and we couldnt understand a single bit. Dinner reception was ok, but food were served rather late, and in-between dishes, it was such a long delay. We were seated at a very good table, the table that is most front, only downside is, it was near a loudspeaker. Boy, there were entertainments, singings and it was blasting at our ears. But I was very happy for her, as it was her special day. I do wish her all the best in the future in this new journey with her hubby.

Split personality, maybe not

I was driving home from work on Friday and I was listening to this radio station where they seem to always play the oldies. Not much of talking by the hosts, which is good at times. Then this song was aired "When you tell me that you love me"..this used to be one of my all time favourite, and I was trying hard to remember the original singer. But all I can think of was Coco Lee who sang this song with Julio Inglesias. Then I thought, boy, I surely have missed Coco. I used to like watching her perform ie her dancing! It was awesome and how she moves so naturally. The unique thing about her is, there's a mixture of personality in her, she can be so young and lively sometimes, and elegant and sophisticated in other times.

Here's to share with you what I mean.

I believe this was the song that made her rose to stardom.

And here, she performed at the 73rd Academy Award, and my, she really made us Asians proud.
