My first scarf
I've finally finished one project and I'm so proud of it. It's my first knitting attempt, so it obviously doesnt look perfect, but I'm glad I even finished it. I always used to start something but never got to finish it. Cross-stitch took me much longer, which was why I gave up half way. Somehow either I got lazy or I just got bored because it takes too long. I'm a very impatient person, and I want to see the result quick. Although this scarf took me almost 3 weeks, it was worth the wait.
I've been so caught up with knitting that I've so much.
Basically, knitting consist of two types; knit and purl. Once you master the basic, the rest is just a variation of these two. The scarf in the picture is made of the most basic stitch called garter stitch. Now, I'm doing a new scarf but using stockinette stitch. It's really nice but somehow it gives some curls at the end. Will post up the picture when its finished.
Ok, tomorrow is the day I've been waiting for 1 month now. It's the bed.. hopefully everything is right, otherwise, I'm going to make them refund my money and write a complaint letter and advertise to the whole of Sydney on how bad their customer service is. Wish us well..

Productive Weekend!
I was meant to blog about this last weekend, a long weekend but were too busy with chores and visitations. Hence, I better take this opportunity to blog while I still can now after the whole mattress ordeal!
I have always wanted to learn to cook or bake new recipes. Andrew gave me an idea when he mentioned his cravings for Kuih Talam. It immediately strucked me on my cravings for Kuih Lapis.
So, I searched up some recipes on Kuih Lapis and found it a fairly easy recipe to make the kuih. So, with all my ingredients ready, I was in business. Unfortunately I didn't have a kitchen scale and had to go "agak-agak" with all the amount of flour and corresponding coconut milk and water. It took me FIVE long hours to steam every layer of the kuih, and I later learnt it was because the flour mix was too diluted hence the long time it takes to set. Oh well, it did turn out alright. It was very soft, but with a nice taste because I added a few drops of banana flavour on top of pandan flavour. Adventurous, wasn't I?
So, I was so glad that I learnt something new. One more thing which I was so excited and proud of, was that I picked up knitting over the weekend! I haven't had a clue on how to knit and thanks to the internet resources, I learnt how to knit and am now still trying to practice and get the yarn tension right.
So, there you go.. it was indeed a truly productive weekend!

Utterly Disappointed!
We have waited for two weeks for this day, at least I know to me it was an enduring wait. Two weeks ago, Andrew and I finally purchased a latex mattress. It was months after much convincing and persuading that we ought to get a good and a big bed to ensure our good night's sleep. Andrew relented, finally although it was costly. But we only bought it because there was a sale on (end of financial year sale) and it was 35% off. It was a pretty good buy, and after comparing prices with several shops, it was clearly a good buy. Hence, we bought it.
On Friday, we got a call saying the mattress will be delivered the following day. I was thrilled! We then agreed they would call us before they arrive, so we can be prepared ie move the current bed aside and prepare the delivery fee.
Soon, it was the next morning. I woked up to a loud knock on the door. It was 9 am (gosh, I slept at 3 am because I was trying to finish reading a book. This is unusual for me as I never really finished reading a book and just left it for good. I was determined that night that I would finish the book, by hook or by crook). I knew instantly it was the delivery man. I had to abruptly wake Andrew up so we can quickly get the room ready for the bed. Imagine my belligerent state for being woken up that way without receiving any notice call.
As they were moving the mattress, I had to drive down 200 meters to the shops just to withdraw some cash from the atm machine for the delivery fee. It was all too scuttle and I never liked it that way.
It took me no longer than 10 minutes to return with some cash. The men were waiting outside the house. Just as I was about to hand them the money, Andrew rushed out and told the men that they delivered the wrong mattress. They delivered Queen instead of King sized mattress. Instantly I was quite glad that Andrew noticed, but horrified because of such mistake done and also because it means I won't get to sleep on the long awaited mattress that night. Well, the rest was predictable for which they took the bed back and we had to arrange for the correct mattress to be delivered again. This could very well suggest another two weeks of wait in agony.
I was utterly disappointed, but at the same time.. I am learning to be patient and to make do with all I have. One lesson I learnt, that is to always check that right goods were being delivered. If not for Andrew, I would have to face more hassle trying to organize for another pick-up on the wrong mattress and whatever.

The Inner Child in Me
Was just following this link to test for my "innerchildinme" personality. To my amazement, it's so true!
And I thought about "cheating" a little by clicking on answers that I would otherwise choose.. and again, it described my childhood.. always scared and sad..
I just feel the need to testify for God's grace in my life. No doubt, my childhood has not been sinuosly smooth, unlike many others whom I know had a normal and happy childhood, praise God, I'm not that person anymore. Of course, there will be ups and downs in everyday life, that's when we need the grace and strength of God to deal with life. That's when we learn to get down on our knees and pray..
Now, I am the best person I can possibly be and without God's love in my life, I would still be that sad and scared child. I have found inner joy in Him. Nothing matters more than having Him in my life and I won't fail to proclaim that, not now and I most definitely hope not in the future will I forget what He has done in my life.
I will not compare myself with others who had a better childhood days, because I'm happy and proud of who I am today.
Your Inner Child Is Scared |
Like a kid, you tend to shy away from new experiences. You prefer what's tried and true - novelty is scary! New foods, new places, and new friends are difficult for you to deal with. Some say you're predictable, but you enjoy being comfortable. |

Your Inner Child Is Sad |
You're a very sensitive soul. You haven't grown that thick skin that most adults have. Easily hurt, you tend to retreat to your comfort zone. You don't let many people in - unless you've trusted them for a long time. |
